The roots of our tobacco grow from the CTV story – from our own history. For generations we have cultivated tobacco in our fields in Verona. Today, we look toward the future working with the same care and attention as the farmers who established our traditions. With the same love for natural and simple things.

We have chosen to continue the cultivation and processing of tobacco which began here, in the province of Verona, with our grandparents in the 1920’s. Why here? Because these are the places we know best. This is where we live and where we call home. Because these are the fields where our tobacco has always grown and where our children run and play.

OUR ROOTS RUN DEEP THROUGH THREE GENERATIONS.

1969 – CTV FOUNDED.
Through the hard work of several agricultural families in the Verona area, the Cooperativa Tabacchi Verona takes shape. Our journey begins with them.
1980/1990 – VERONA, SEAT OF ITALIAN TOBACCO.
New partners arrive bringing improved processing and cultivation methods. The Cooperative grows and becomes a brand of excellence for Italian tobacco.
2004 – CTV RENEWED.
CTV prepares the foundation for the future, by investing in technology. The processing plant is completely renovated and furnished with the latest machinery.
2015 – A NEW NAME.
THE SAME HABITS.
Our brand, Flue Cured Verona, is created from the roots of CTV. The name changes but the way we do things, well, it never will.
2017 – A NOVELTY IN PRODUCTION.
Our plant has been equipped to produce Shisha ministrips.

This is the greatest resource we have. We are able to export tobacco from Verona to the entire world thanks to the efforts and dependability of our growers. For generations they have passed on their way of doing things well: in the seedbeds, during drying and curing, in quality control, transplanting or harvest. During every single part of the production process of our tobacco.

Why else would we work so deeply on our social policy? We don’t stop at applying international regulations, adhering to the Sustainable Tobacco Programme (STP), and respecting the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions no. 138 and no. 182 on safety in the workplace and protection of minors.
No, we don’t stop with just these.

Every day, we here at Flue Cured Verona stand beside our growers, in the research of techniques for making our agriculture more sustainable for the environment. Every day we work with our agronomists to preserve the characteristics of the territory that we live in and to maintain the ecosystem that allows us to produce our tobacco.
Because we want the best possible future for our children. Because the ground that they will walk on is the same that today we respect, live on and cultivate. Because that’s how we were brought up: doing things well.
